Usage Example: Sealing during machine shutdown to prevent contamination

Most thermoplastic resins, when left in the barrel even for a short time, are likely to degrade and eventually cause product contamination, especially during start-ups. To prevent contamination or deposit formation, leave the barrel full of ASACLEAN during machine shutdown. For detailed instructions, please refer to the Purging Procedures for sealing / shutdowns / startups contamination protection.

The heaters are shut off on an injection molding machine. In one scenario, the machine (barrel) is left full of ABS. In the other the barrel is left full of ASACLEAN.

Note that after 5 hours, there is no contamination
in the machine sealed with ASACLEAN.
